Ms. Lynne will be offering blog candy --- your very own Princess Crown and a Piecing Project of your favorite Princess by remarking on each stop on the royal kingdoms along the way!!!
Now for my project...thus my dilema
I almost dropped out of this hop when I began my project. I am NOT good at these Disney cuts. I cannot get the fine details to look like anything.
I did not want to disgrace the hop with my poor project. There are MANY talented ladies in this hop.
However, I decided that I would post my card and ask for your help. How do you people cut these Princess cuts? Ariel's eyes look HORRID!!!
Ariel was cut from Dreams Come True cart at 4 1/2". The paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The stickers and ribbon are from my stash.
Thanks for suffering through today's card. LOL. Thanks for your help.
And for your pain and suffering....
The FABULOUS Ms. Nikki of Paper Piecings by Nikki has graciously offered up a $25 gift certificate to her online store. YAY!!!!
How do you win?

Hi Beckie! I think your card looks great! When it comes to the princesses I tend not to cut their eyes, instead I use a gel pen and color them in.
ReplyDeleteBeckie,
ReplyDeleteAriel looks great! I think you did an awesome job with her. I usually touch up the princess eyes with my gel pens. Again, great job! Glad you didn't drop out because Ariel looks great!
Beckie in the photo Ariel's eyes look good but if you want an expert opinion I will ask the expert on princess-- my 5 year old!
ReplyDeletelove the mermaid... great bg embossing too...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend...
Love your Ariel! I'm also glad you didn't drop out.. that would of been a shame for sure. The eye's look fine.

You did a great job on Ariel- as others have said I too don't use cuts but instead pens or stickles for eye color. I have found it is just not practical to try and use those cuts,
ReplyDeleteYour Ariel is beautiful!! Not horrid!!! :)

She doesn't look that bad, dearie... Maybe some glitter to give her a sparkle in her eyes would help! The embossing is perfect for the project. Thanks for sharing.

I think it looks awesome!! Sometimes, I try the cuts and just use my gel pens and colored pens, I have also seen people use the princess faces from PKS (they make everything look good hehe). Glad you showed your card, I love it!!

I think the card is adorable. Love Ariel. I'm not a fan of the cuts but I always use a gel pen. Nice being in the hop with you.
ReplyDeleteAshley
That is the very reason I don't have any of the cartridges. I have Tink and have a horrible time with the faces!!
ReplyDeleteYour's looks really good for being so small
I love your card Ariel looks great all the eyes ont he princesses leave something to be desired and some times the pieces are so tiny you can't even uses tem then you resort to your pens, LOL. you did an awesome job on ariel and I love the embossing it is perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteNice hopping with you,.
Big Blog Hugs, Janet
YIKES! Why are you so hard on yourself???...she came out terrific! I've done that with the eyes on Cinderella and I finally gave up and drew them in!! Love the embossing detail.

ReplyDeleteYou are your own worst critic! I love your card!! I also love the bottlecap shoes, and the on the go card. Awesome projects!

I think this is awesome, Beckie!! You know I love mermaids!! I have the hardest time with the eyes, too...they never, ever look right. I usually end up using pens to color them in because the cuts are horrible. I cut and re-cut but can never get them right. It's frustrating. But I love your card and the embossing...so pretty :)
